'Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,'

Introduction
Many ministers of God do all kinds of impressive things in the name of anointing. The impressive things are done to make people believe that anointing is taking place, when actually nothing is happening in spirit. This paper is intended to list those impressive things and advise the ministers of God to stop using those tactics in the service of God. The impressive but wrong actions include:
- Turning a person round until dizziness puts him in an unstable motion, which manifests by staggering, and in some cases eventual fall to the ground.
- Hitting somebody very hard on the chest, so that he loses self-control and balance and therefore, staggers.
- Pushing somebody in such way that he loses control and stability.
- Shaking somebody until he stagers as if being moved by the Holy Spirit.
- Making all kinds of sounds that make people feel that the Holy Spirit is manifesting anointing. The deceptive sounds include shouting, shrieking, etc.
- Speaking in tongues, when the Holy Spirit is not moving them to do so.
- Staggering like a drunkard when the spirit is not manifesting in a person.
- Prophesying when the spirit of prophecy is not moving a person. Many ministers do this just to impress people.
- The practice of imitating prophecy has become so rampant that several ministers of God go to native doctors or get demonic powers, so that they can prophesy to impress people.
- Etc.
The Excellent Way
The best way to perform anointing are the following:
- Do not pre-arrange anointing manifestations that will take place during prayers, worship or services.
- When you have programmes, do not worry yourself about what to do or how to effect the manifestations of anointing. That is the work of the Holy Spirit.
- The Holy Spirit knows what to do, how to do it and when to do so. Usually, He comes in the most wonderful and excellent ways to manifest the presence and glory of God in the midst of His children.
- Jesus stated it clearly, saying,
18 You will be brought before governors and kings for My sake, as a testimony to them and to the Gentiles. 19 But when they deliver you up (as well as when you pray or minister to people), do not worry about how or what you should speak. For it will be given to you in that hour what you should speak; 20 for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.” Matthew 10:18-20
- Assuredly, I say to you, that the Holy Spirit shall precede you, accompany you, manifest during your prayers and ministrations, and as well later confirm your works, if you only trust in God. This is the fact.
- I am a living witness to the above facts and corrections. I have organized several prayers and ministrations, and what the Holy Spirit normally does in the form of divine presence, anointing or ministration have being both great and wonderful, and even far more than expected. That is why I do not worry. Instead, I have peace of mind, knowing that the spirit moves whenever it is necessary to do so.
- Jesus said it clearly,
"If you love Me, keep My commandments. 16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever — 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans ; I will come to you.” John 14:15-18
- One interesting fact is that whenever true ministers of God schedule a programme, the Holy Spirit arrives there before the ministers and the congregation. By the Holy Spirit, I also mean the ministering Angels. Sometimes, they arrive there three days to the event, waiting.
- When I doubt, all you have to do is to pray for divine presence and manifestations.
- You will know a true prophecy because it comes as convincing statements and as clear as the daylight.
28 "The prophet who has a dream, let him tell a dream;
And he who has My word, let him speak My word faithfully.
What is the chaff to the wheat?" says the LORD.
29 "Is not My word like a fire?" says the LORD,
"And like a hammer that breaks the rock in pieces?
Jeremiah 23:28-29
- Do not form the habit of prophesying simply because people expect you to prophesy.
- Do not prophesy from gossips and stories you hear from day to day. If you do so, you shall be making great mistakes.
30 "Therefore behold, I am against the prophets," says the LORD, "who steal My words every one from his neighbor. 31 Behold, I am against the prophets," says the LORD, "who use their tongues and say, 'He says.' 32 Behold, I am against those who prophesy false dreams," says the LORD, "and tell them, and cause My people to err by their lies and by their recklessness. Yet I did not send them or command them; therefore they shall not profit this people at all," says the LORD.
Jeremiah 23:30-32
19 And so we have the prophetic word confirmed, which you do well to heed as a light that shines in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; 20 knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture is of any private interpretation, 21 for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. 2 Peter 1:19-21
